The Story

  • Beautifully preserved fossil shark tooth (Carcharocles megalodon): an outstanding specimen because of its large size, completeness (including bourrelet), nice serrations, gorgeous enamel and pointed tip. This tooth has no restoration.
  • Hawthorn Formation: 3 - 7 million years old
  • Beaufort County, South Carolina, USA
  • Largest predatory fish to ever swim the oceans – scientists estimate that Megalodon measured 10 feet for every inch of shark tooth length. Astonishingly, Megalodon bite marks have been found in whale bones.
  • Measures precisely 5.35 inches along longest slant; 5.20 inches along second slant; 4.15 inches wide; and it weighs 302 grams.
  • Please select option (1) without the stand, or (2) with the stand ($35 extra)
