Meg Tooth - Light Colour - 5.4"

This stunning light-coloured shark tooth (Carcharocles megalodon) is a rare "land find" from Beaufort County, South Carolina. It's an excellently preserved, complete large tooth with serrations, a pointed tip and gorgeous overall shape.

It's the perfect specimen for serious Megalodon tooth collectors or anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind conversation piece. Finding a tooth on land in South Carolina - rather than a coastal river - is uncommon and adds to the appeal of this unique fossil. 

Importantly, this amazing fossil is completely unrestored, which adds considerable value. 

Megalodon was the largest predatory fish to ever swim the oceans. Astonishingly, Megalodon bite marks have been found in whale bones. Scientists estimate that Megalodon measured roughly 10 feet long for every inch of shark tooth length (measured diagonally). Therefore, this colossal animal could have measured over 50 feet in length.

Incredibly, Megalodon is estimated to have had a biting force 5 to 10 times greater than a Great White Shark.

Age: Middle Miocene Epoch, 16 to 11 million years old.
